Is it a scam or not

I want to purchase an item from kijiji and the seller says I need to register and pay another company who will cash the payment and then send the item to me. Only if I accept the item will the company then pay the seller. The payment must go through www.primevehicletraders.com

They do have info on paypal.com which I know is real.

Every search about the service seems positive. There are only a few items found when I searched them which makes me concerned. Kijiji and ebay searches bring up nothing either.

Everything just seems odd.

Please only offer your opinion if you have actual first hand knowledge about this www.primevehicletraders.com. I appreciate all the warnings I may get but I really am looking for first hand experiance dealing with this company.

My father was looking to buy a VW campervan and the seller wanted to use that service. We did a bit more digging and it looked like the company was completely secure and extremely reputable. That was by far the best experience we ever had purchasing a car. Friendly , up front Honest about the process . A hassle free experience. .

I googled it a bit, and found nothing really authoritative. What I found was a lot of postings like this one to different forums (hunting forums, car forums, etc) where someone asked if the service was legit. members of those forums reported their experiences, and those responses were split about 50:50 into two types: 1) those who had used the service and said it worked great, and they would recommend it; 2) those who never used the service and wouldn't recommend it

I did find one notice saying that there were scammers who were imitating Prime Vehicle Traders in order to scam people, and so one explanation could be that it is a legit service (which is why some people had success) but there are a lot of imitating scammers (which is why just as many people seem to get scammed).

Prime Vehicle Traders is absolutely a really great service. I decided to use them. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend them!
